I have been decorating since I was a little girl, but not always making the most beautiful spaces! Design evolves and changes and thank goodness because somethings need to change! Especially my royal blue floral bedding I slept in for years and the blue floral wall paper border I put up to match! Not my proudest decorating decision, but I did love it at the age of 16! Today, decorating and design is a huge industry. We have HGTV and Homegoods, they make redesigning a room look easy and they inspire us to create more inviting spaces. But, with so many choices, it can be intimidating and overwhelming. Not everyone loves decorating like I do, and trust me, I understand what that feels like when its time to do paperwork or something that does not tap into my creative brain. But working with the layout of a room, paint colors, fabrics, and furniture, have always been things I enjoy. I did not consider interior design in college, so I graduated with a business degree and worked in corporate sales for a few years until I became a Mom. Being a Mom enlarged my love for the HOME and was a teacher in the things of home decorating, shopping, bargain hunting, budgeting, cooking, and project management. It was a natural training program that I truly loved, and as my kids grew older, I gradually began working outside of the home.
The name DropCloth evolved in our basement about 15 years ago when me and my Mom were painting and reupholstering our dining room chairs. I named the company I would one day start, and since then I have gradually gotten to where I am today, helping people make their house their HOME... and loving it.
It is important to me to creatively use pieces my clients have, whether it be an old shelf a relative made or a beautiful down sofa that just needs new fabric. Sometimes a room needs all new furniture, paint, lighting and flooring! But making the space feel like the pieces have been collected over time instead of buying everything at once is important.
I love the value memories give to a dining table or an old chair, and my goal is to keep the things that have meaning, but give them refreshment and bring in some beautiful new pieces to make the space feel new and yet still have the history and value of the things that are meaningful to the client. I love rooms that are warm and inviting, not pretentious, but rooms you want to be in and so do family and friends.
I have lived here in the valley since 2004 and I am a mom of three beautiful kids and two adorable dogs. My goal is to be your encourager, and help to inspire you to create rooms where you love to live. I look forward to meeting you and working together to make your house your HOME!
